Servicing

Rather than waiting for machinery or equipment to break down and have our team "reactively" repair the issue EMS recommends 6 or 12 monthly machinery maintenance.

The machine service will include an inspection for worn parts, machine cleaning and lubrication, resetting of bed-plates, fences and spindles and an after-service report providing a list of any defects.

Along with the machine service we include health and safety inspections to help ensure your equipment is operating safely and in compliance with PUWER.

Local exhaust ventilation (LEV) systems and testing

Along with our machinery services we have experience in local exhaust ventilation or L.E.V. systems as they are more commonly known.

We can survey your current production process and offer free impartial advice on existing system optimization, existing system upgrades or completely new installations.

The majority of dust extraction systems will fall under the C.O.S.H.H. regulations 2005 and are therefore an engineering control device, it is a legal requirement for LEV systems to be checked by a competent person at least every 14 months to ensure it is operating correctly.

We can also offer Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) Testing by a qualified P601 engineers with a LEV report detailing your systems performance.

PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing)

EMS can offer PAT Testing (Portable Appliance Testing)

The UK Health and Safety Executive along with insurance companies will expect you to perform PAT testing to ensure that you are compliant with certain regulations including:

• Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974
• The Electricity at Work Regulations of 1989
• The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations of 1998
• The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations of 1999

The law requires that employers, including self-employed, ensure that all electrical equipment that they provide in their business is safe and properly maintained. This means that PAT testing is a critical part of your company's health and safety and should be considered part of a solution to your safety concerns.
